Thank you for your interest in the residency programs in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. All applications must come to us through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). For U.S. medical graduates, this application process is coordinated by the Dean's office of your medical school. At your request, your Dean's office will electronically communicate your completed and collated application to us. It should include the following: universal application, a photo, your medical school transcript, the Dean's letter, the Department of Medicine ("Chair's") letter, letters of support from two other faculty members who have supervised you, a personal statement, a curriculum vitae, and USMLE Step 1 scores. The Department of Medicine ("Chair's") letter is also required for applications to the Medicine Preliminary Year Program. A curriculum vitae is automatically generated through the ERAS application process.
Graduates of schools outside the United States should coordinate their application in a similar fashion through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG); their home page may be accessed at www.ecfmg.org
