Welcome to the Department of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. Our department has a long and proud tradition of training both research oriented physician-scientists and practicing internists of the highest caliber. The strength of our training program is in significant measure due to the balance among research, clinical care and teaching that we strive to achieve. The quality of the medical students at Washington University and the exceptional standard of the members of our house staff ensure a challenging and exciting peer group for our interns and residents.
